eBay is an online auction site that enables people to search thousands of items to find what they want. People bid on the items until the time runs out. When there is no more time, the highest bidder wins. Also you can buy “Buy it now” items. With these it has a set price and one person can simply buy it. It is all easy to use and quick. Well, you obviously have to wait for the auction to end. I’ve just bid on a jcket and an electric guitar and it was all sorted in less than 5 minutes. A lot less time than it’ll take to pay for them! Once you have bid you simply wait. If you have won something you leave feedback on the person you bought it off. This will determine genuine sellers from conmen. Overall easy to use and you can get some cheap products too!

Ebay is a well known and well respected internet auction website. A registered Ebay member can buy and sell from Ebay.

If selling is something you want to do, then a credit or debit card would have to be registered and possibly verified before you can sell. I have come across a problem when i first tried to sell something and my persoanl account had to be verified before hand. It enables the buyer to see that you have been verified by Ebay themselves. They are obvioulsy risks with adding credit or debit cards on the internet, but Ebay do offer alot of added security.

Ebay is an ideal place to buy anything you could ever wish for.All you have to do is sign up and a way you go (please note you have to be 18 to do this).The main thing I look for on ebay is the ace selection of CDs at really low prices,I have brought around 20 CDs in the last 6 months some for only 2 pounds-a real bargain.
A piece of advise would be that dont bid on a item unless you do intend to buy it if you win the auction.
one of the main things I like about ebay is that it is exciting when you are bidding on a item because you dont actually know if you will win it or not.Ebay is also good if you want to sell any items to earn some cash.Its really easy to set up a sellers account and the winner of the item you are selling just pays the money through ebay(into your account)or the actual bidder can send you a cheque/postal order.
Ebay is a really popular and safe environment to shop,just avoid any people with high negative feedback because they are generally time wasters.
I think its a good place for anybody to shop and it is great for students like myself to get textbooks,cds etc..at low prices.

Whilst you can browse everything on the site without having to register your personal details, you will need to do so to bid, buy and sell products. Registration however is quick and simple and won’t inconvenience you.

The design of the Ebay site isn’t exactly the best around, but it serves its purpose well. It’s simple, but functional. There’s no banner ads, Java or Flash to slow the site down.

You can either browse for what you want though the hierarchical categories or use the search engine. Browsing is simple, despite the thousands of items for sale, because of the tree-like way items are listed. The search engine is very good too. You can choose to search for items only in your country if you aren’t willing to/can’t send money abroad, you can exclude words from your search which is very useful if the word you search for regularly comes up with irrelevant items. (i.e. searching for the band Ash frequently produces Pokemon related results so the words “pokemon” and “pikachu” can be excluded to get better results).
You can search within a specific category only, which is useful in the music section where you only want CDs for example.
