Griffith resorts to kidnapping and murder to strike at the cabal plotting against him at the court of Midland, and his counterstroke causes the death of the Queen and many nobles. No longer wishing to be the instrument of another man’s ambition, Guts leaves the White Hawks. His departure devastates Griffith, Caska, and the others. In a moment of weakness, Griffith acts rashly and seduces Princess Charlotte. The King imprisons him and decimates the Hawks. Guts spends a year training with a master swordsmith, but when he learns Caska is now the leader of the remaining Hawks, he rejoins his friends for a final mission–to rescue Griffith from the dungeons of Midland. Although the animation is often minimal, director Naohito Takahashi doesn’t flinch from the darker implications of the story, as many filmmakers do. Citizen Band radio takes to the freeways for fast-lane thrills and fly-over spills. Trucker “Rubber Duck” (Kris Kristofferson) signals the big `10-4′ when he and his unsuspecting ridealong (Ali MacGraw) are chased through three states by a corrupt traffic cop named “Dirty Lyle” (Ernest Borgnine). The green light is sent out over the CB airwaves for a convoy of truckers to help keep the police off his trail. Director Sam Peckinpah steps on the gas for this all-action adventure jam-packed with sensational stunts.

Walking on Water was a great movie! Both Vince Colosimo and Maria Theodorakis were awesome! The great cast includes Vince Colosimo, Maria Theodorakis, Nathaniel Dean, Judi Farr, Nicholas Bishop.
If you love watching Vince Colosimo or Maria Theodorakis, you are deffinetly going to want to watch Walking on Water
Friends and family gather around the death bed of Gavin, where they assist in the dying man’s suicide. But though Gavin’s pain has been laid to rest, the grief felt by everyone there has only begun, and Walking on Water compassionately follows the attempts of Gavin’s closest friends Anna (Maria Theodorakis) and Charlie (Vince Colosimo) to recover from their loss. This beautiful Australian movie carefully observes the subtle power struggles between friends and family as they try, with a kind of mournful jealousy, to claim the memory of the deceased for their own. All the characters are superbly written and made vivid by the excellent ensemble. Despite the heavy subject matter and its terrible title, Walking on Water is delicate, down-to-earth, shot through with humor (sometimes macabre, sometimes gentle), and completely absorbing. –Bret Fetzer

Director Wayne Wang is in his appealingly low-key groove with this wry comedy-drama, a precursor to his later success with The Joy Luck Club. It’s set in the aftermath of World War II, when the restrictive U.S. immigration laws had finally been relaxed. WWII vet Russell Wong is a young Chinese-American hepcat, strong-armed by his dad (the wonderfully gnarled character actor Victor Wong) into an arranged marriage with a Chinese girl (Cora Miao). The trip to China, and the atmosphere of New York’s Chinatown, are neatly mounted. The film’s central joke, and metaphor, is the bridegroom’s impotence after marriage; he’s cowed by the expectations of his traditional culture, which don’t necessarily match his own ideas. In its quiet way, Eat a Bowl of Tea examines the larger issues of ethnic identity while poking affectionate fun at its floundering characters–a distinctly modern attitude for a 1940s story. –Robert Horton
